Estate Sale Shopping Memories

What do you get when you have two dogs running freely, two teenage boys running freely, a talking parrot, and a squawking parrot? One heck of an estate sale experience! We survived our last sale and had a lot of fun in the meantime. I hope those who shopped with us had a good time and found some great bargains.

If you have never shopped at an estate sale, they can be very eye opening. You'd be very surprised at how much you can save by shopping estate sales for some of the most basic household items or decorations versus the department stores. And its almost a guarantee that you'll run across some unique items that will peak your interest as well.

If you are a regular estate sale shopper, I'd love for you to share some of your most memorable estate sale shopping experiences with us.

Men vs Women

I met a gentlemen the other day at a networking function whose eyes lit up when I told him that I own an estate sale business. He mentioned that he and his wife will change their initial destination if they are out driving  and run across an estate sale sign. They will quickly turn around to hit that estate sale. I tend to hear that a lot, but the conversation got me to thinking about who is more of an estate sale junkie-- men or women?

On the surface, when you think about shopping and shoppers you would probably lean toward those of us of the female persuasion. I have concluded that men are the official estate sale junkies! Based on my unofficial survey, I tend to have more male customers lined up outside the door on the first day of my sales than women. I thought it strange at first; however, the men are wanting first dibs on those tools and electronics which tend to go rather quickly. My men folk will purchase items that neither I nor they can identify. For instance, I've had a customer to tell me, 'well I'll figure it out when I get home.' This just tickles me to death. On the other hand, women tend to think along the lines of getting more for less. I think this is why I tend to see more women on the last day of my sales when everything is 1/2 off. So men, we may have the malls conquered but you all definitely rule in the estate sale arena! Audience, what do you think? Men or women?

Estate Sale Businesses Make it Easier to Liquidate Assets

A professional estate sale business can make the often difficult process of liquidating assets far simpler for the individuals who are involved. These companies can assist in planning the auction, establishing a timetable for the project, and maximizing profits at the same time. In addition, the services being provided will be customized to meet the unique needs of the situation..... To read more from this article please visit

My line of work deals with many families who are hurting due to the loss of a loved one. My niece posted these words on her FB page and I just wanted to share these words with you all; if you know anyone that's hurting please share and send a message that you care:
I'm so lost. I feel tiny and not important in this world, when you lose someone that was a part of you for so long, you hurt & you ...want everyone around you to see your pain, possibly want them to hurt as much as you. It's funny , when i pass people in cars or in grocery stores I feel like they should instantly feel sad for me , but then i have to remember they don't know me , i don't know them or their story & someone I pass with a smile on their face could be hurting just as much or more than me. So even though my loss was not one heard around the world, i know that somewhere, someone feels my pain. I empathize with you .
